Costs of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions treatment in a publicly financed health care system

摘要: Although cervical cancer is the most frequent for women in Taiwan, no examination of its treatment costs has yet been undertaken. This study aimed to investigate and precancerous lesion Taiwan. A total 7,398 cases intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) lesions were identified from Taiwan Cervical Cancer Screening Registration System 2003. further 1,469 invasive (ICC) also a survey on staging information conducted by Task Force. Resource usage covering first 6 months after CIN diagnosis 5 years ICC extracted National Health Insurance claims database. The duration each visit transportation collected means personal interviews with CIN/ICC patients. mean standard deviation indirect estimated. average patients NT$4,201 CIN1, NT$8,623 CIN2 NT$14,406 CIN3, accounting 25–33% total. NT$210,230 Stage 1, NT$392,387 2, NT$433,969 3 NT$464,701 4, about 14–17% resulted considerable healthcare system Indirect associated such substantial cannot be ignored.
