摘要: Aims In experimental studies the recovery of pressure distal to stenotic valve orifices has been well described. We evaluated extent, determinants, and clinical importance in patients with aortic stenosis. Methods Results The study was performed 37 stenosis, whom cardiac catheterization left ventricular pressures were determined using a high-fidelity multi-tip micromanometer catheter. To register waveforms accurately catheter positioned so that proximal ventricle, second at site minimal vena contracta, third (the most distal) ascending aorta 16cm further downstream. amount within up 44% maximal drop. index directly correlated Gorlin-derived area (r=0·80) indirectly ratio cross-sectional aorta. Conclusions This confirmed data, is dependent on effective aorta. Pressure may need be considered mild moderate stenosis small
