摘要: Single-mode fiber splicing requires quite a precise core alignment for the adjustment of eccentricity and outer diameter discrepancies. Several methods have been developed. The typical four are as follows: 1) remote injection detection systems (RIRDS), 2) local (LDS), 3) (LIDS), 4) direct monitoring systems. so-called prefusion method has developed to prevent bubble growth during fusion process. This is widely used both single multimode arc machines. average losses 0.11 dB 0.10 reported single-mode splicings with RIRDS by NTT in Japan, Bell-Northern Research Canada, respectively. With LIDS method, loss 0.13 field was PTT Netherlands. 0.08 Japan. one simplest on most useful machine. Splicing does not require alignment; that is, cladding sufficient low-loss splicing. Therefore, mechanism fibers much simpler than fibers. 0.07 Japan 1982. As mentioned above, this paper reviews experience these different methods.
