摘要: Objective The objective of this study was to investigate the association between handgrip strength (HGS) and risk all-cause mortality in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients its relationship with nutritional status. This also investigated whether HGS is similar female male patients. Design Methods a cohort using data from Prospective Study Prognosis Chronic Hemodialysis Patients (PROHEMO) median follow-up 33.81 months. setting satellite dialysis units city Salvador, Brazil. The sample included 443 adult MHD. main predictor variable baseline categorized into low high groups on basis sex-specific optimized cutoffs, outcome measure mortality. Results In Cox regression models adjusted for age other demographic variables, hazard death significantly higher lower males (hazard ratio [HR] = 3.10, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.68-5.74) females (HR = 2.72, CI = 1.03-7.19). more than 2 times that numerous covariates, exception status indicators. After indicators were included, associated decreased by 6% 55% females. Conclusions demonstrates predicts men women Differences seem exist MHD role played explaining increased HGS.
