摘要: This thesis examines a variety of theoretical issues relating to ethnicity, multiculturalism and racism in New Zealand. It is argued that whilst the country’s history has been replete with anti-Asiatic racisms, it necessary transcend timeless notion as colour discrimination instead, situate past present racisms within nation’s temporally specific positions modernity. Through an orientation time diachrony, research considers if liberal policy conducive for contemporary Zealand society. In view academic debates suggesting ‘practical’ version exists alongside constitutional biculturalism, de facto exhibits characteristics commercial conservative multiculturalisms which fail address problem racism. A form multiculturalism, maintained, will not produce best outcome because insensitive indigenous rights remain mutually exclusive from biculturalism. then concludes discussion on likely future cosmopolitanism Zealand, both theory how might possibly work practice without immolating hegemony
