摘要: Abstract Background Although Vietnam has implemented policies aimed to reduce substance misuse among young people, this group still consistently reported the high prevalence of misuse. This study was conducted explore perception regarding use and Vietnamese adolescents youths identify associated factors. Methods Data were obtained from a cross-sectional survey in five provinces: Hanoi, Cao Bang, Kon Tum, Binh Thuan, Dong Thap. The structured questionnaire included: sociodemographic characteristics (age, gender, living areas, occupation), about tobacco, alcohol, other substances Tobit regression models employed find factors with use. Results In total 1200 youths, nearly 30% believed passive smoking not harmful for health, 40% agreed drink alcohol if being invited. Of note, approximately 34% did think that using drug 1–2 times could cause addiction. Those females, lived rural, older people tended perceive more correctly smoking/alcohol comparison male, urban, younger counterparts. Conclusions indicated popularity misconceptions Vietnam. Males, those urban individuals have poorer perceptions toward Contextualized approaches which involved cultural perspectives social expectations should be considered.
