摘要: Purpose We evaluated differences in aqueous humor dynamics (AHD) among several mouse strains within younger and older age groups. Methods Albino (A/J, BALB/cJ) pigmented (C3H/HeJ, C57-BL/6J) mice (young [2½-4½ months] aged [10-12 months]) were studied. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured. In cannulated eyes, episcleral venous (Pe) assessed (blood reflux). Other AHD parameters (outflow facility [C], formation rate [Fin]) (constant flow infusion). Uveoscleral outflow (Fu) obtained by calculation (Fu(calc)) using the modified Goldmann equation, additional eyes (for comparison), FITC-dextran perfusion (Fu(FITC-dex)). Results higher strains, but did not exhibit age-dependence, except C57-BL/6J strain. Fu(calc) decreased with BALB/cJ (↓83.3%), C3H/HeJ (↓78.0%), (↓85.0%) strains. A/J strain, (↓70.0%), significantly. Fin (↓53.6%) age, C strain increased (↑62.5%). Episcleral ranged from 6.0 to 6.6 mm Hg (albino strains) 8.5 8.9 (pigmented strains). Pe dependent, animals. Conclusions mouse, Fu diminish age. tends increase as animals progress middle life. There are Fu, IOP, C, Fin, Pe. The current findings provide an important foundation for comparisons different study reports.
