摘要: The molecular basis of the organogenesis, homeostasis, and tumorigenesis adrenal cortex has been subject intense study for many decades. Specifically, characterization tumor predisposition syndromes with adrenocortical manifestations profiling sporadic tumors have led to discovery key pathways that promote pathological growth. However, given observational nature such studies, several important questions regarding pathogenesis remained. This review will summarize naturally occurring genetically engineered mouse models provided novel tools explore cellular underpinnings tumors. New paradigms cancer initiation, maintenance, progression emerged from this work be discussed.
