摘要: Equivalent single and multi degree-of-freedom systems are used to predict low-velocity impact damage of composite sandwich panels by rigid projectiles. The symmetric consist orthotropic laminate facesheets a core with constant crushing resistance. transient deformation response the subjected were predicted in previous paper, analytical solutions for force velocity at initiation presented this second paper. Several modes considered, including tensile shear fracture top facesheet, failure, failure back facesheet. similar static indentation modes, but inertial resistance high strain rate material properties influence loads. Predicted loads velocities compare well experimental results.
