摘要: ABSTRACT. The presence in types I and II hexokinases of sulfhydryls required for catalysis was demonstrated by the inactivating effects N-ethylmaleimide (N.E.M.) p-chloromercuribenzene-sulfonate (PCMBS) on soluble isozymes. Interaction type with oxidized glutathione incubation intact tissues N.E.M. produced catalytically-active electrophoretic variants (I S ) I, indicating sulfhydryl(s) distinct from those supporting catalysis.
