摘要: Modular frameworks for crop modelling have evolved through simultaneous progress in science and software development but differences among these exist which are not well understood, resulting potential misuse modelling. In this paper we review similarities different developed identify some implications We consider three currently used modelling: CROSPAL (CROp Simulator: Picking Assembling Libraries), APES (Agricultural Production Externalities Simulator) APSIM Systems sIMulator). The implemented differently they provide more or less flexibility guidance, to facilitate assembly of model from components. underline the importance systematic approaches selection appropriate structure derive suggestions it. particularly stress need better documentation underlying assumptions modules on simulated processes criteria applied a particular simulation objective. Such should help point out sources uncertainties associated with models reinforce role modeller as an intermediary between engineer, coding modules, end users, agronomists physiologists using specific Finally, key contributions domain discussed draw conclusions prospects such field continue reside principles systems analysis combined up-to-date advances engineering techniques.
