Controlled evaluation of lithium and chlorpromazine in the treatment of manic states: An interim report

摘要: Summary An interim report of a double blind study the action lithium and chlorpromazine in manic states is presented. A control group schizo-affective patients has been included. To date 48 trials treatment have undertaken 42 patients. There were 27 depressives, phase, one chronic mania 14 schizoaffective The absence negro depressives discussed. Total remission occurred 78 per cent with 36 chlorpromazine. Significant differences noted between two drugs quality action. Both agents produced reduction overactivity but optimum doses tended to produce sluggishness drowsiness. Lithium normalization affect ideation; on ideation was less consistent, clear slower onset. Toxic effects during periods stabilization at no significant side appeared. occurrence late toxic noted. In schizo-affectives, 85 showed deterioration their clinical condition.
