摘要: Shed pattern was studied in 4-week-old straight-run New Hampshire chickens inoculated orally with 108 salmonellae of two species, S. typhimurium and infantis. Birds were sampled by cloacal swab at 0, 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 13 17 days postinoculation. Also, on each sample day material from 12 different areas the intestinal tract least five birds cultured for salmonellae. Results 252 indicate that cecal contents provide best evidence tract. On basis recovery one or more portions tract, 182 222 subsequently necropsied positive. Of these, 72 (39.6%) positive taken just prior to necropsy, 85 (46.7%) tonsil culture, 106 (58.2%) cloacalcontents 155 (85.2%) cecal-contents culture. There no significant differences localization between species Salmonella. Repeated swabs indicated both first second postinoculation remained longer than only those days. negative tended remain during entire experiment.
