摘要: The author reports on a series of 482 patients who underwent primary carpal tunnel release (CTR) surgery beginning in 1987. Two hundred twenty-five CTR the right hand, 169 left and 88 bilateral surgery, for total 570 hands. These surgeries were performed an outpatient basis. After application local anesthetic, microsurgical technique using 2-cm longitudinal incision that did not cross wrist flexion crease was accomplished. In five recurrent thenar branch exited through middle or ulnar portion ligament this preserved all five. Perioperative complications included stitch abscesses nine hands (2%), which managed basis; deep wound infections occurred three (0.5%) these admitted intravenous antibiotic administration care.
