摘要: The diet of the European brown bear ( Ursus arctos ) was studied in Cantabrian Mountains, Spain, by analyzing frequency occurrence and percent volume 929 feces collected 1983–1988. Plant material predominant food during spring summer (84.1 44.8% total volume, respectively) until more nutritious foods became available. During autumn winter, hard mast formed greatest part constituting 61.5 49.9% respectively. Livestock wild ungulates were supplementary for bears, usually obtained scavenging rather than predation. Insects consumed year-round, ranging from 19.5% to 0.1% winter. Remnant deciduous forests upland creek drainages prime feeding areas bears.
