摘要: New seismological observations on velocities and propagation characteristics of Pn Sn waves beneath Tibet can be interpreted, although not uniquely, to indicate the shallow-angle underthrusting Greater Indian continental lithosphere Tibetan plateau. This is inferred from available geological geophysical data now supported by new observations. The most significant observation that high-frequency (shear travel in mantle lithosphere) propagate efficiently uppermost plateau, except north-central part (the Chang Thang terrane). Furthermore, propagates across stable block Tarim basin, along Tien Shan Himalayan Mountains, shield. Apparent traverse plateau are 8.42 4.73 km/s, respectively. These very similar those Mountains efficient also commonly observed shield regions. results consistent with model do favor class alternative models which formed shortening thickening hot crustal material response convergence India Asia.
