摘要: trans-Resveratrol is a polyphenol found in blueberries, grapes, and wine with cancer chemopreventive properties. The low bioavailability of this compound enhances its concentration the luminal content becomes potential agent against colon cancer. In present study, antiproliferative pro-apoptotic effects on human colorectal carcinoma HT-29 cells as well mechanisms underlying these were examined. Proliferation, cytotoxicity, apoptosis measured by fluorescence-based techniques. Studies dose-dependent trans-resveratrol showed activity an EC 50 value 78.9 +/- 5.4 microM. Caspase-3 was activated manner after incubation for 24 h giving 276.1 1.7 Apoptosis also confirmed microscopic observation changes membrane permeability detection DNA fragmentation. mitochondria pathway evidenced production superoxide anions undergoing apoptosis. conclusion, inhibits cell proliferation without cytotoxicity induces HT-29. Results study provide evidence demonstrating antitumor effect via ROS-dependent carcinoma.
