摘要: The lentiviruses, caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus (CAEV) and progressive pneumonia (PPV) of sheep, cause major diseases in their respective hosts; however, the infectivity these viruses for closely related species has not been determined. Experiments were conducted to determine whether CAEV would infect sheep PPV goats. Upon inoculation with CAEV, lambs developed a nonsuppurative arthritis antibody was isolated up 4 months later. Exposure 3 CAEV-infected adult goats did lead demonstrable infection after 18 months. Young inoculated replicated antiviral antibody. These results demonstrate that distinctly different lentiviruses may other than accustomed host. Presently used techniques be effective differentiating which lentivirus is responsible Our also indicate mixing adversely influence attempts eradicate from species.
