摘要: Abstract Introduction Amino acid transport across the placenta is crucial for fetal growth. In rodent models, visceral yolk sac (referred to as hereafter) also likely contribute amino provision. System L transporters mediate of essential acids. activity mediated by light chains LAT1 (Slc7a5) and LAT2 (Slc7a8) which form functional complexes heterodimeric linkage CD98 (Slc3a2). LAT4 (Slc43a2) monomeric, possessing overlapping substrate specificity with LAT2. Methods This study investigates expression these LAT subtypes in fetus-matched rat sac. Results Slc7a5, Slc7a8 Slc43a2 transcripts were expressed similar patterns between sexes. was significantly higher than Conversely, placenta; comparable. LAT1, LAT2, distributed placental labyrinth zone (LZ) junctional (JZ). demonstrated LZ, whilst more intensely JZ. sac, punctate staining endodermal cell cytoplasm, contrasting intense basolateral distribution, accounting greater compared placenta. Conclusion are implicating a combined role supporting growth development.
