摘要: This study was designed to investigate the association(s) between heterogeneity at cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) gene locus, CETP plasma concentrations, and HDL cholesterol levels. Healthy men with lowest, median, highest deciles of were selected from a large population database. We accounted for factors that are known influence levels, such as smoking, exercise, body mass index, alcohol consumption, blood pressure. Plasma concentrations measured, we determined allele frequency distribution six DNA polymorphisms. The group low exhibited significant increase in concentration compared both median high groups, whereas did not differ among groups cholesterol. distributions TaqIB (intron 1), Msp I 8), Rsa (exon 14) polymorphisms differed significantly Further analysis revealed polymorphism had 1.5-fold larger impact on than fivefold polymorphism. In conclusion, demonstrated locus is correlated More specifically, our data indicate presence strong association common variants gene, consequently hypoalphalipoproteinemia healthy white men.
