摘要: Abstract Improving resilience in forests relies on an understanding of the values, knowledge and practices associated with forests. In this paper, based a case study from UK, we present qualitative data how concept is understood by decision-makers, effectiveness existing policy tools to promote resilient current boundaries social acceptability different management options. Our research reveals that articulation actual, possible needed responses reflects challenge multifaceted array potential implications, connected diverse set forest ecosystems. suggests collaborative development promotion overarching vision for resilience, which recognises needs contexts owners managers sector, might begin overcome fragmented lack tools. This will necessarily involve discussion coordination across areas government those agencies organisations responsible science behind approaches applications. particular, there need contextualise communicate line stakeholder needs, articulate uncertainty measures range situations so public agencies, can make informed choices.
