摘要: Epithelia are comprised sheets of interconnected cells that function in tissue morphogenesis, protection, selective absorption, and other essential processes. Epithelial harbor different molecular properties their apical versus basolateral domains. This apicobasal polarity is critical for normal epithelial functions its loss linked with cancer progression. Because experimental accessibility by genetic, molecular, imaging approaches, Drosophila melanogaster has become a major model understanding how conserved circuitries during animal development. In this chapter, we first review the components logic circuits formed from Par complex; Crb kinase Par-1; proteins Scribble, Discs Large, Lethal Giant Larvae; Yurt/Cora group (Fig. 7.1). We focus on local positive feedback loops forming polarized domains cell, long-range negative between as well regulate specific Next, discuss these organized into pathways establish elaborate embryo. Finally, outline examples cross talk morphogenesis. Open image new window Fig. 7.1 The main cell compared distributions key complexes. One corner an represented. See Sects. 7.2 7.3 details
