摘要: Among the multiple possible interactions of drugs with cellular macromolecules, one DNA is paramount importance, since it may be followed either by cell death or heritable alterations genetic code. Cell can aim a therapeutic approach, as indeed case for antiproliferative agents (antineoplastic and innunosuppressive drugs). Conversely, drug-induced alteration must considered toxic effect. If this concerns somatic cells (somatic mutation), consequence cancer induction; aging atherosclerosis have been also related to damage. When germinal (germinal birth defects gradual accumulation in human gene pool subtle but essentially irreversible deleterious mutations are likely take place.
