摘要: Statement of Problem: Candidal colonization on soft liners is important in the development pathogenesis, such as denture stomatitis. It has heen reported that combining anti-fungal agents into might be used treatment and prevention Purpose: The aim this in-vitro study was to determine whether incorporating clotrimazole (C) silicone liner (S), would inhibit growth C. albicans when specimens are stored distilled water washed daily with wet cotton. Methods Materials: Experimental specimen disks incorporated (Sc 1 , Sc 30 60 ) without (S S (no=8) were fabricated aseptically against polyester film produce a smooth surface. treated control for 1, days For fungal assessment, they inoculated suspension. rinsed sonicated sterile remove surface organisms. attached yeast measured by inoculation suspension Sabouraud's agar. data compared using two-way ANOVA. Results: mean colony forming units (CFU) per mm 2 after storage washing cotton 6.5I10 6 5.8I10 6.1I10 respectively. CFU decreased significantly 2.6I10 3.9I10 4.6I10 30, days, In comparison those disks, effective inhibiting following months ( P <0.05). Conclusion: addition reduced liner. samples continued months.
