摘要: Abstract The velocity and attenuation of 10-Mc/s sound waves in a nickle single crystal have been measured as function magnetic field orientation intensity at room temperature 77°K. Changes the transverse order 0.1 per cent were observed when was rotated about crystallographic axis high enough to allow saturation elastic constants. Attenuation changes also observed, but showed different angular dependence than changes. measurements can be explained by phenomenological theory based on magneto-elastic coupling. Using this theory, it possible estimate magnetostriction constants resulting value for λ100(λ100= −30×10−6) supports previous which show that goes through minimum near 173°K.
