摘要: Abstract We study an underrepresented area in the international business literature: effect of meta-environment on multinational enterprise (MNE) performance. A is a symbiosis all country environments where MNE operates. This conceptualization firm's external context important because borders increasingly become permeable. The unique governance structure allows to specialize recombining and melding multiple resources institutions. At any given point time, each will explore exploit its own company-specific meta-environment. therefore argue that variations determine performance wherever firm located, whether it has one location or many, presence geographic space positions relative others configuration. Our among first examine empirically impact achievements with panel dataset from European multinationals. results provide convincing support for our approach
