Individual differences in entrainment of mood to the weekly calendar.

摘要: This study addressed two questions: Do daily fluctuations in mood exhibit a 7-day (circaseptum) cycle, and are there reliable individual differences how entrained people's moods to such weekly cycle? Spectral analysis of over 84 occasions revealed strong rhythm the temporal organization sample 74 undergraduates. A sine wave with period 7 days accounted for 40% variance data. Individual were also found subjects' this rhythm. We predicted that extraverts (compared introverts) should be less cycle. Results suggest novelty- sensation-seeking behavior most likely serves lessen cyclical predictability their day-to-day moods. The origin psychological meaning week discussed.
