摘要: Objective Weight loss programs are often conducted in a group format, but it is unclear whether weight losses or adherence cluster within treatment and characteristics of the (e.g., size homogeneity) affect outcomes. We examined these questions Look AHEAD, multicenter study effects an intensive lifestyle intervention (ILI) overweight/obese individuals with type 2 diabetes. Methods Weight (attendance, use meal replacement products, minutes activity) were over one year 2329 ILI participants 209 groups, which all received same program. Results Weight did not among members (intra-class correlation [ICC] 0.007), whereas measures had small/moderate clustering (ICCs 0.05-0.11). The groups varied losses, mean 8.64% (SD = 2.35%, interquartile range = 6.82%, 10.32%), neither nor baseline homogeneity affected outcome. Conclusions Although findings suggest that may be necessary to control for behavioral studies, they also indicate merely treating sufficient harness social influences on loss.
