摘要: Summary Background: Surgical treatment of acral lentiginous melanomas with wide excisional margins as recommended often requires amputation distal extremities. The current study analyzes whether smaller excisions in combination a complete histological evaluation the (3D histology) have negative impact on prognosis.Patients and methods: 304 patients were retrospectively evaluated. 192 reduced followed by 3D histology (group A) compared 112 treated conventional B). outcome both groups was compared. Results: median tumor thickness higher group A (p = 0.022) ulcera-tions occured more frequently 0.017). margin 8 mm 20 B < 0.0001). 10.9 % (4.2 invasive) und 8.9 (4.5 0.577) developed local recurrence 40 months. melanoma specific 10-year survival 66.8 63.4 0.531). There no difference or without 0.643).Conclusions: Excision small is not inferior to surgery terms rate has ne-gative prognosis further course disease. Local recurrences are rare do influence patient survival.
