摘要: Motivation: The production of olive oil generates high volume olive-oil mill wastewater (OMW), which is normally deposited at large build-evaporation ponds. This OMW are characterized by acidic pH, organic load and phenolic compounds. accumulation this polluted does not represent an adequate solution becoming important environmental issue. Advanced oxidation processes (POAs) known for their efficiency in removing contaminants. photo-Fenton process one the best based on combination Fenton reaction (Fe/H2O2) with presence ultraviolet light. system can be carried out homogeneous phase (liquid) as heterogeneous (liquid-solid). use solid catalysts has its advantages, especially easy recovery reduction consumption. In work been evaluated iron oxide (III), HFeO2, catalyst photooxidation (UV/HFeO2/H2O2) . Methods: All experiments were performed a 1L reactor commun operating conditions were: initial COD = 16586 g O2/L, pH 3, T 20°C, agitation rate 700 rpm UV-ligh. Different concentrations (HFeO2) assayed 0.038; 0.263; 0.758; 5; 10; 20; 30 50 g/L. addition, control have developed only air, UV, H2O2 combinated UV/H2O2. Results: removal percentages values recorded range tested 46.8-62.8% 76.4-88.8% total compounds 'TPCs', respectively. registered case air (%CODremoval 11,1% TPCs 50,0%), UV 37,8% 56,97%), 43,1% 70,4%) UV/H2O2 46,7% 78,0%). Conclusions: pollutant reduction. Catalyst concentration increase improves capacity UV/H2O2/HFeO2 treatment. industrial application depending to final destination treated water quality requisite. Another operation units added if requires it. On other hand, future it's interesting indicate importante evaluation catalytic recuperated HFeO2
