摘要: Many of the motoric features that define Parkinson disease (PD) result primarily from loss neuromelanin (NM)-containing dopamine (DA) neurons substantia nigra (SN), and to a lesser extent, other mostly catecholaminergic neurons, are associated with cytoplasmic “Lewy body” inclusions in some surviving neurons. While there uncommon instances familial PD, rare known genetic causes, etiology vast majority PD cases remains unknown (i.e., idiopathic). Here we outline environmental findings related epidemiology, suggestions aberrant protein degradation may play role pathogenesis, pathogenetic mechanisms including oxidative stress due DA oxidation could underlie selectivity neurodegeneration. We then potential approaches neuroprotection for derived current notions on pathogenesis.
