摘要: Most toxins isolated from snake and scorpion venoms are basic polypeptides, composed of 57–66 amino acid residues in a single chain crosslinked by four disulfide bonds (Lee, 1972; Miranda et al., 1970). However, their pharmacological actions rather different. The postsynaptically acting neurotoxins possess curarelike action without any direct effect on the muscle or nerve endings 1972), while induce twitchings neuromuscular blockade, owing to through motor (Zlotkin Shulov, 1969). Unlike neurotoxins, cobra cardiotoxin (CTX) induces contracture skeletal muscle, irreversible membrane depolarization (Lee 1968). Recently, al (1970) have succeeded isolating eleven venoms. most toxic fraction, namely, toxin II venom Androctonus australis Hector, can spontaneous contractions. purpose this investigation is compare induced CTX elucidate possible mode studying interactions with cations certain drugs.
