摘要: The Mutator transposable element system of maize was originally identified through its induction mutations at an exceptionally high frequency and a wide variety loci. Mu1 subfamily elements within this are responsible for the majority Mutator-induced mutations. Mu 1-related were isolated from active plants their flanking DNA characterized. Sequence analyses revealed perfect nine base target duplications directly insert 13 14 studied. Hybridizational studies indicated that Mu1-like primarily into regions genome low copy number. This preferential selection number as targets insertion not directed by any specific secondary structure(s) could be detected in study, but 9-bp exhibited discernibly higher than random match with consensus sequence 59-G-T-T-G-G/C-A-G-G/A-G-39.
