摘要: The social structure of populations plays a key role in shaping variation sexual selection. In nature, selection occurs communities interacting species; however, heterospecifics are rarely included characterizations structure. Heterospecifics can influence the reproductive outcomes intrasexual competition by interfering with intraspecific interactions (interspecific interference [IRI]). We outline need for studies to incorporate as part environment. use simulations show that classic predictions effect on altered an interaction between and IRI. This has wide-ranging implications patterns conflict kin-selected strategies socially structured populations. Our work bridges gap research IRI, highlights future directions study communities.
