Risk Management and Hazardous Waste: Implementation and the Dialectics of Credibility

摘要: The proper management of hazardous wastes has become a major environmental and economic problem. Local opposition to siting new treatment disposal facilities amplified international movements between different regulatory regimes. Inconsistent national regimes allow loopholes whose exploitation amplifies public concern local opposition. Furthermore, inadequate understanding attitudes political responses allows unpredictability undermine industrial confidence decision making. This IIASA book contributes original fieldwork from six countries conceptual analysis aimed at improving the practical waste problems.
