摘要: High moisture content western hemlock veneer was modified using viscoelastic thermal compression (VTC) technology with an integrated drying stage. VTC is a type of thermo-hydro-mechanical treatment. This project determined the influence five processing parameters on properties lamina. significantly increased mechanical veneer, which mainly depended degree compression. However, moisture-induced thickness swell substantially depending and venting time. Increasing process temperature mass loss. Integrating step improved efficiency eliminated defects. Process optimization different desire to increase or dimensional stability. Statistical models were developed predict treated products will reduce cost provide guidance design commercial manufacturing processes.
