摘要: Abstract We provide numerical evidence of passive and broadband targeted energy transfer from a linear flexible beam under shock excitation to local essentially nonlinear lightweight attachment that acts, in essence, as sink—NES. It is shown the NES absorbs one-way, irreversible fashion dissipates this locally, without ‘spreading’ it back beam. Moreover, we show numerically an appropriately designed placed can passively absorb locally dissipate major portion beam, up optimal value 87%. The implementation concept isolation practical engineering structures other applications discussed.
