摘要: BACKGROUND: Fungal aneurysms of the carotid artery are rare. We report here a case Aspergillus fumigatus invasive sphenoidal sinusitis complicated by in severely neutropenic patient who was successfully treated with combination antifungal therapy and embolization all aneurysms. METHODS AND RESULTS: Carotid were suspected when severe epistaxis occurred during follow-up for sinusitis. MRI angiograph cerebral revealed 5 involving right intracavernous artery. Coil endovascular used first time this context, is alive 2 years later. also reviewed literature identified 10 cases fungal species most common organism. All patients immunocompromised had to be surgically. CONCLUSIONS: Internal arterial involvement rare but life-threatening complication should diagnosed early, so that procedure can performed before occurrence bleeding.
