摘要: Objective To compare a standard diet and protein-enriched in critically ill children. Study design In this prospective randomized controlled trial children, all patients received enteral nutrition exclusively were randomly assigned to or (1.1 g protein/100 mL of feeding formula). Blood urine tests, nitrogen balance assessment, energy expenditure testing by indirect calorimetry performed before the beginning regimen at 24 hours, 72 5 days after initiation. Demographic data pediatric mortality risk scores recorded. Results Fifty-one children randomized, 41 completed study. Of these, 21 formula 20 formula. There no between-group differences terms age, sex, diagnosis, scores. was greater positive trend levels prealbumin, transferrin, retinol-binding protein, total protein group. These significant only for protein. The also higher group; however, difference did not reach statistical significance. No adverse effects hyperproteinemia detected Conclusions provides insufficient delivery Enteral supplementation is safe can improve some biochemical parameters metabolism.
