摘要: Spinal cord injury (SCI) can lead to severe motor, sensory and social impairments having a huge impact on patients’ lives. The complex time-dependent SCI pathophysiology has been hampering the development of novel effective therapies. Current treatment options include surgical interventions, stabilize decompress spinal cord, rehabilitative care, without providing cure for these patients. Novel therapies have developed targeting different stages during trauma. Among them, cell-based hold great potential tissue regeneration after injury. Neural stem cells (NSCs), which are multipotent with inherent differentiation capabilities committed neuronal lineage, especially relevant promote reestablish damaged tracts. Several studies demonstrate regenerative effects NSCs in transplantation by neurotrophic support restoring synaptic connectivity. Therefore, human clinical trials already launched assess safety Here, we review NSC-based experimental context how they currently being translated into trials.
