摘要: While recent decades have seen the rise of a vast body work on war reporting, there been few sociological explanations why journalists deal with challenging situations in particular ways. This article contributes to bridging gap between practice-based studies reporting and general journalism as profession, by providing systematically account factors that influenced how Syrian conflict was covered Dutch Flemish reporters working for wide range media. In doing so, this draws 13 in-depth interviews those reporters, which is informed content analysis their work, Pierre Bourdieu’s concepts economic, social cultural capital both an institutional individual level. addition, it argued Bourdieusian analyses may be developed further distinguishing endogenous exogenous forms capital.
