摘要: We investigated the ability of honeybees, Apis mellifera, to use olfactory information gained in a given experimental context, other contexts. First, restrained bees were subjected Pavlovian associative learning procedure, based on conditioning proboscis extension response (PER), where floral odour was paired with sugar reward. observed orientation behaviour conditioned and naive four-armed olfactometer four contiguous fields either scented or unscented. Information transfer clearly shown, orienting towards odour, whilst shunned it. Second, effect passive exposures during bees' development assessed two behavioural contexts: PER procedure. Two exposure periods applied: (1) pupal stage (9 days before emergence); (2) early adult (8 after emergence). No preimaginal recorded, but induced higher choice frequency field olfactometer, lower performance assay. These observations show that can modify later different this is another instance bees. results also suggest nonassociative phenomena, taking place at critical period development, might be involved maturation system, organization odour-mediated behaviours.
