摘要: Abstract The influence of biomass macromolecular composition on its behaviour in torrefaction was statistically assessed through Principal Component Analysis (PCA), both terms solid conversion kinetics and volatile species released, function the operating conditions. experimental data obtained 14 woody agricultural samples at lab-scale analysed. Main cellulose, hemicelluloses lignin shown to acceptably represent diversity, which can be complemented by extractives ash content. Similitudes were found deciduous coniferous wood families, respectively, while herbaceous crops as more heterogeneous, characterization torrefaction. Cellulose, content strongly influenced yields torrefaction, family exhibited a lower impact. Ash potassium, phosphorous silicon did not show any extent degradation A variability profiles from woods, crop heterogeneous. Different released same family. Furthermore, different production for chemically close, except wood. These results indicate that, when modelling mass loss represented an exemplar wood, several would required release require consideration per
