摘要: Background: Intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) is the most common cause of stroke, but relationship ICAS with fasting blood glucose (FBG) and glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA 1c ) unclear. This study aimed to investigate effects increased FBG HbA concentration on ICAS. Methods: A total 4,012 patients aged over 40 years who underwent cerebral magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) were enrolled in this study, including 1,434 non-stroke controls 2,578 ischemic stroke. Participants classified into four groups according stroke status. was defined as presence ≥50% any intracranial artery. Multivariate regression analysis used evaluate associations Results: Levels significantly higher than those without among both groups. showed that elevated levels (OR 1.14, 95% CI, 1.11–1.18, P 1.22, 1.16–1.28, quartile 3.50, 2.23–5.61, Conclusions: The results suggest are associated high risk for ICAS.
