摘要: Billibathynella humphreysi gen. et sp. nov. is described from calcrete aquifers located in the Yilgarn Craton of north‐western Australia. This first parabathynellid known Australian Precambrian shields, which have never been inundated by sea. A comparison primitive species so far Australia and other continents points to new as being most among parabathynellids. It further suggests that genus has an affinity Notobathynella Schminke, but differs having a six‐segmented antenna large epipod male thoracopod VIII. An attempt relate primitiveness historiogeological characteristics region led conclusion recent parabathynellids could emerged freshwater epigean ancestors. assumed transition their ancestors groundwaters happened Notogaea.
