摘要: Subcloning a Clostridium thermocellum DNA fragment carrying the celD gene resulted in high–level expression Escherichia coli of new cellulase termed endoglucanase D. With carboxymethylcellulose as substrate, D appears to be among most active cellulases hitherto described. The enzyme was purified from cytoplasmic granules, and crystals suitable for high–resolution X–ray analysis were obtained.
