摘要: For over 100 years, the extent to which relative phases of sinusoidal components a sound are important in determining its perceptual attributes has received continuous, if not particularly intense, attention. Recently, there been renewed interest perception phase changes, primarily because physiological studies have suggested that temporal information contained auditory nerve firing patterns may be crucial extraction spectral envelope characteristics (e.g., Young and Sachs, 1981). Phase manipulations provide way investigate this possibility as, appropriate circumstances, they change structure stimuli presented without changing their amplitude spectrum. Here, an attempt is made elucidate some aspects influence filtering (“place” analysis) (“time” detectability both for normal hearing-impaired listeners.
