摘要: Abstract Marls from three areas in Crete (Chernissos, Agios Vlassis, Agia Varvara) were studied to determine their liquids limits by the Casagrande fall cone penetrometer methods and results compared. The first method is classic one, second a later proposal for measurements clays. In addition these tests, various aspects of materials studied, such as: qualitative quantitative mineralogy, specific gravity solid particles, particle size grading, Atterberg (liquid plastic limits), plasticity index activity. interpreted using statistical order identify mathematical expressions diagrams which represent interrelationships existing between above properties. According present investigation, two liquid limit determination give similar results. This similarity was greater finer soils, especially pure clays; more shallow depth could better soils with lower clay concentrations, expressed equation z=6C0.14.
