摘要: The upper bound technique of limit analysis is used to develop approximate solutions for the bearing capacity cohesive soils with weight. Solutions are presented smooth and rough surface subsurface footings. Soil treated as a perfectly plastic medium associated flow rule after Drucker. smooth, footings shown compare favorably slip-line solutions. Meyerhof's rough, agree remarkably well. lAssociate Professor Civil Engineering, Fritz Laboratory, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa. 2Teaching Assistant, Department
