摘要: The focus of this study was on the economic costs closures to transport corridors from flood waters at Rockhampton in January 2011. Two approaches have been used provide for a simplified assessment impacts road closures. first model proportional downturn regional economy, using data surveys with local businesses assess drop business activity over period. Using approach impact economy estimated $35 million, or about 0.77 percent gross product Rockhampton. second involved application travel cost savings methodology corridor total direct assessed time $66.7 million closure, and $13.5 airport more than half ($47.5 million) relating isolation north Queensland economy. estimate $32.7 closely matches results slowdown approach.
